Job Description:
We are seeking a specialized instructor for the Heavy Equipment Operation Program (5720) at the Adult Education department. The goal of the program is to train skilled operators to handle various types of heavy equipment, construct and maintain roads, and perform excavation and leveling tasks.
Program Objectives:
Operate: bulldozer, grader, loader, backhoe loader, excavator, and compactor.
Perform: road and infrastructure construction, excavation, truck loading, and large-surface grading.
Required experience and qualifications
Candidate Profile:
Required Qualifications:
Relevant training in heavy equipment operation.
Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in the field.
Valid heavy equipment operator certification.
(Note: The School Board may, at its discretion, waive the qualification requirements for a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) who agrees to complete a training program determined by the Board.)
Requirements:
Fluency in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, or French.
Experience teaching multi-level classes.
Assets:
Valid teaching license from Quebec or another Canadian province.
Knowledge and experience with MEQ (Ministry of Education of Quebec) programs.
Experience teaching English and French as a second language.
