🎯 Job Summary:

The First Nations Regional Adult Education Center (FNRAEC) is seeking a qualified On-Site Generalist Teacher to deliver daytime classes to small groups of First Nations adult learners at the Archambault Men’s Institution, within both medium and minimum-security populations. The position requires a sensitive and adaptive teaching approach, with a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and values.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction aligned with the Quebec Ministry Adult Education Regime

• Plan inclusive learning activities tailored to diverse academic levels and needs

• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback

• Administer exams and maintain accurate assessment records

• Follow all Corrections Services Canada (CSC) regulations and institutional requirements

Required experience and qualifications

🧠 Qualifications:

• Valid Quebec teaching license (Brevet d’enseignement) or in the process of obtaining one

• Willingness to work within a correctional environment

• Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the challenges affecting Indigenous communities

• Understanding of First Nations values, traditions, and learning preferences

• Ability to engage learners through culturally relevant educational content

• Strong communication skills in English and French

• Experience working with learners who face academic challenges or learning differences is an asset

🚨 Security Requirement:

Selected candidates must obtain Corrections Services Canada security clearance (FNRAEC will assist in the process).
