General Manager of Social Assistance
Job description
🎯 Description:
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking a General Manager of Social Assistance to lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of financial support programs and workforce reintegration initiatives for the community.
✅ Responsibilities:
Develop and implement social assistance programs in alignment with regulations and community needs.
Oversee daily operations of the Social Assistance Department, including eligibility assessments and case management.
Lead budget planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.
Create service standards, KPIs, and ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies.
Collaborate with community partners and represent the department in public forums.
Guide and support a team of caseworkers and administrative staff, promoting a positive and accountable work culture.
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Administration with 1 year of relevant experience, OR
DEC in Applied Social Sciences, Social Work, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, OR
High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience and training.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite), familiarity with digital records systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities.
Asset: Knowledge of Kanien’kéha and French, or willingness to learn Kanien’kéha.
💰 Salary: $1,443.00 to $1,630.13 per week (based on experience)
⏰ Schedule: 37.5 hours/week – Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
