Family Strengthening Program Manager
Job description
Description: The Family Strengthening Program Manager will play a key role in working closely with the research team to adapt and develop a program that addresses the needs of Indigenous families in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. This position involves collaboration with community organizations and includes significant program management and community capacity-building components.
Responsibilities:
- Program Design and Development:
• Study and adapt the Family Strengthening program model for Indigenous families.
• Collaborate with partners to create a culturally adapted program.
• Develop a communication and implementation strategy.
• Write funding reports for Public Safety Canada. - Community Engagement and Capacity Building:
• Consult with Indigenous partners to gather feedback and identify the needs of families and communities.
• Strengthen relationships with Indigenous organizations and stakeholders.
• Develop training for partners delivering the program to ensure successful implementation. - Program Coordination and Evaluation:
• Coordinate program activities within participating Indigenous organizations.
• Supervise program implementation, ensuring alignment with community values.
• Document challenges and successes, and write a report on best practices. - Teamwork:
• Actively participate in team culture and meetings.
• Communicate proactively with the team about program activities.
Required experience and qualifications
Qualifications: • Strong time, priority, and deadline management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changes.
• In-depth knowledge of the Indigenous sector in Tiohtià:ke.
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassion.
• Active listening skills.
• Initiative and autonomy.
Assets: • A university degree in social sciences, management, law, Indigenous studies, or any other relevant field.
• Experience in program development, project management, research, community work, or helping professions is highly valued.
• Bilingualism in English and French (an asset).
Working Conditions: • Type of position: Full-time
• Salary: $33/hour to $36/hour (based on experience)
• Location: Hybrid (remote and in-person in Verdun)
• Benefits: 6% vacation, winter break, collective insurance plan (healthcare, dental, life insurance, etc.), and collective RRSP plan.
