🎯 Description:
PJCCI is seeking a civil or construction engineer to join the Diagnostics and Planning Department. The role involves planning, documenting, and coordinating inspections, diagnostics, master plans, and investment projects to ensure the longevity and functionality of major infrastructure. The position is part of a collaborative team focused on innovation, technical excellence, and shared objectives.
💼 Status and Schedule:
• Unionized, temporary position – 18-month contract
• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
💰 Salary:
• CAD 58,878.06 – 135,418.28 annually (2025 scale, based on experience)
✅ Responsibilities:
Inspections, Diagnostics, and Master Plans (50%)
• Maintain a strong understanding of project sites through field visits and document reviews.
• Define the annual and ten-year deliverable schedule in line with internal obligations, planned works, and budget.
• Manage and execute contracts with the Senior Coordinator, Responsible Engineer (IRO), and internal stakeholders.
• Define professional services, deliverables, and standards; prepare terms of reference for professional service contracts.
• Ensure deliverable quality, analyze reports, and recommend actions.
• Facilitate corporate decision-making, balancing service level, costs, and risk.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and approvals for additional work.
• Participate in quarterly updates of the Asset Management Summary Report.
Ten-Year Planning (50%)
• Maintain detailed knowledge of project areas through site visits and document review.
• Consolidate investment needs by project type, location, and intervention schedule.
• Prepare and update project sheets, including cost estimates.
• Organize and lead planning workshops across teams.
• Collaborate with the Asset Management Technical Committee and lead alignment efforts with the Senior Coordinator and IRO.
• Maintain global schedules for ten-year planning.
• Monitor active projects and coordinate upcoming projects.
• Ensure communication and coordination with partners and stakeholders.
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering.
• Candidate Engineer (CPI) status with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards.
• Fluent in French (oral and written); strong command of English (oral and written).
Assets:
• Familiarity with inspection, evaluation, design, and construction standards for bridges, civil structures, and roads.
