🎯 Job Description

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI), the school board serving Inuit communities in Nunavik, is seeking an Educational Consultant to support elementary-level teachers of French as a Second Language and Social Studies. This key role aims to promote culturally relevant, high-quality education aligned with Inuit language, culture, and values.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Second Language Curriculum Development, the consultant will assist with curriculum implementation, development, and evaluation while providing direct support to teaching staff.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pedagogical support to French as a Second Language and Social Studies teachers (elementary level)

  • Participate in the development of competency-based programs aligned with Inuit culture and values

  • Design learning and assessment activities and develop teaching materials

  • Lead workshops, training sessions, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) both in person and online

  • Collaborate with various Educational Services departments

  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of teaching materials

  • Support innovative projects with creative thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor

Required experience and qualifications

✅ Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • Legally qualified to teach in the province of Québec

  • Experience teaching at the elementary level

  • Strong proficiency in French

  • Proficiency in digital tools (Microsoft 365, Teams)

  • Willingness to travel frequently to Nunavik communities

  • Assets: experience in Northern education, knowledge of English and/or Inuktitut

💰 Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range: $49,456 to $92,027/year, based on qualifications and experience

  • 20 annual vacation days

  • 2 weeks off during the holiday season
