🎯 Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of School Operations, the Development Officer is responsible for researching, analyzing, and developing school food programs for Kativik Ilisarniliriniq. The role includes securing funding, monitoring projects, providing support to schools, and coordinating programs with regional partners and internal KI services.
✅ Responsibilities:
Identify and build relationships with funding organizations
Write funding proposals including project plans and budgets
Monitor funded projects and produce reports
Develop school food programs and menus
Assist in hiring and training school cooks
Manage food program budgets and purchase necessary equipment
Provide direct support to schools (virtual and on-site)
Coordinate regional food strategies and liaise with internal services
Perform other relevant tasks as required by the supervisor
💰 Salary:
$55,282 – $97,963/year, depending on qualifications and experience
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the school board (Inuktitut, French, English)
Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills
Teamwork skills and proficiency with MS Office
Knowledge of the community, regional stakeholders, and adult education and professional training sectors
