Job description

In this role, you would keep the organization running on the administrative and development side, so that everyone else can focus on the people who walk through our doors. That means grant writing, managing the Executive Director’s schedule and communications, supporting governance, coordinating with partners and funders, and a multitude of other tasks. It is a full and varied job, and no two weeks look exactly the same.

Required experience and qualifications

Education
Undergraduate degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional work is required, with preference given to candidates who bring more. Grant writing and submission is essential. A background in a nonprofit, community-based, or social services environment is a strong asset, as is time spent supporting senior leadership or working in an executive office.

Skills and Attributes
Bilingualism in French and English is required; knowledge of an Indigenous language, primarily Cree or Inuktitut, is an asset
Strong written and oral communication skills in both languages
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Proactive problem solver who takes initiative and works well without close supervision
Ability to take direction from Indigenous leadership and work respectfully within an Indigenous-led organization
Discretion and sound judgment, particularly around confidential information
Comfort in a fluid and sometimes unpredictable environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfort and fluency with technology is essential; familiarity with Google Workspace, Squarespace, Zoom, Zeffy, and social media platforms is an asset, as is a general ability to troubleshoot and adapt to new tools as needed
