🎯 Description :
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant for the Waste Management division of Public Works. This full-time, fixed-term position supports both front-desk operations and administrative functions through March 31, 2026.
✅ Responsabilités :
Reception Duties
Greet clients and manage office reception
Answer, screen, and direct phone/email/social media inquiries
Distribute organizational notifications and maintain contact listings
Sort/distribute mail, order office supplies, manage meeting calendars
Maintain department archives, logs, and customer service reports
Administrative Support
Track employee leave and arrange temporary worker coverage
Submit timesheets and weekly activity reports
Process purchase orders, invoices, and maintain key registry
Assist in payroll and financial tracking for the department
Support year-end reporting and certification renewals
Organize meetings, take minutes, and prepare internal documentation
Communications Support
Assist with public outreach events and educational activities
Help produce communications materials (print, graphics, videos)
Update website content, track public relations activities
Coordinate translations with Kanien’kéha language services
Collect and report data from community engagement efforts
💰 Salaire :
$39,468 to $44,538 per year (37.5 hours/week, 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications :
DEP in Secretarial Sciences + 1 year experience, or
High School Diploma + 3 years of relevant experience
Strong administrative, time management, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with website management and graphic design is an asset
Video editing and camera skills are assets
Knowledge of MCK policies and Waste Management procedures is an advantage
Discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently or in a team
Knowledge of Kanien’kéha and/or French is an asset; willingness to learn Kanien’kéha required
